Hallo, Berlin!

Did you know that Germans call their mobile devices "Handy"?

If you ask somebody for their number you say, "Gib mir bitte deine Handynummer."

Hands also show up in Korean's haendeupon (핸드폰) and Mandarin's shǒujī (手机). Talk about embodied technology!

A People's History of Tech is installed at re:publica 24 in Berlin! Come add your story to the timeline and help change the narrative of tech.

Don't miss Sara's lightning talk on Wednesday, Caring for Cassandra. In Greek myth, Cassandra had the gift of prophecy and suffered the curse of not being believed. Many of our staunchest tech critics today are marginalized for their resistance and refusal. What if we heeded Cassandra’s warnings and re-visioned her story?

And if you're not at re:publica this week, you can always contribute your stories online! We've uploaded a bunch of participant stories from our installations at Sundance and SXSW and the People's Stories collection is poppin' with juicy memories.

Auf Wiederhören! (Literally, "until we hear each other again")
